Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier has blasted EA Sports for the low Fifa 20 ratings for himself and Davinson Sanchez.

The release of Fifa 20 is less than three weeks away and to help build anticipation, EA Sports have been pairing up with football clubs to tease some player ratings.

Dier and Sanchez on Fifa 20: Five things to know…

  • EA Sports have started to reveal the player ratings ahead of Fifa 20’s release at the end of September.
  • As part of the tease, Spurs stars Dier and Sanchez were made to guess their ratings for FIFA 20.
  • Neither appeared to be overly happy with their ratings, with Dier calling EA Sports disrespectful.
  • Dier: 79 overall; 54 pace; 63 shooting; 71 passing; 65 dribbling; 80 defending; 84 physical.
  • Sanchez: 83 overall; 74 pace; 45 shooting; 56 passing; 67 dribbling; 83 defending; 81 physical.

One such video saw Tottenham pair Dier and Sanchez made to guess their rating for each of the six stats involved on an Ultimate Team card, before guessing their overall rating.

Starting with speed, Sanchez was revealed to have a pace rating of 74 – one lower than his initial guess of 75 and nine below the 83 Dier pushed him towards.

Sanchez joked: “See, Fifa is always against me!” Before Dier replied, saying: “Unbelievable. That’s not true, that is not true. That’s wrong.”

Predicting his own speed, Dier didn’t have his expectations high, claiming people have a false perception.

“I know mine is going to be disrespectful. I know they are going to disrespect my speed on there. People have a false perception of my speed. If yours is 74 I’m not looking forward to mine,” he said while laughing.

The pair went on to reveal their stats for shooting, passing, dribbling, defending and physicality before coming to their overall rating.

Sanchez was revealed to have a rating of 83, a downgrade from the 84 he had for Fifa 19, while Dier’s decreased from 80 to 79.

“Thank you, Fifa,” Dier retorted.

While both Dier and Sanchez’s overall Fifa ratings have dropped, some of their Spurs team-mates have seen rises ahead of Fifa 20.

Son Heung-min increased from 84 to 87 between Fifa 19 and 20, a rise good enough to earn him a spot in the Top 100 players, with Toby Alderweireld joining him on 87 from 85.
