Sparta Prague vs Rangers build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:

After finishing second in the Czech Premier League last season, Sparta Prague started their European journey in the Champions League second qualifying round, where they beat Rapid Wien 3-2 on aggregate. However, they dropped down to the Europa League after a 5-1 thrashing against Monaco across two legs, and their opening game against Brondby ended goalless. In the league, Sparta are currently third, winning six and drawing two of their opening nine matches, with Viktoria Plzen ending their unbeaten start just after the international break.

Rangers, meanwhile, are sitting pretty atop the Scottish Premiership table with five wins from their opening seven matches, losing only Dundee United in the second week of the campaign. Since that defeat, Rangers have gone seven games unbeaten in domestic football, but that run has been punctured by a 2-0 defeat to Lyon in the opening game of the Europa League group stage. Rangers go into this game in good away form in the Europa League, losing just one of their last nine games on the road and were unbeaten in such matches last season.

Sparta Prague have a host of injuries ahead of this game, including Matej Polidar. Rangers, meanwhile, are expected to be without Filip Helander.

Player to watch: Alfredo Morelos (Rangers)

Although Rangers are top of the Scottish Premiership, Gerrard’s attackers haven’t been in the greatest of form this season.

Kemar Roofe is the club’s top scorer across all competitions, with five goals in nine appearances, one more than Alfredo Morelos has managed in 12 games.

Morelos is without a goal in his past four league games since finding the net in Rangers’ 4-2 win over Ross County, but he did end a goal drought last week. After Roofe opened the scoring, it was Morelos who rounded off the 2-0 win, and Rangers will be hoping they can get firing once again.
