Two Premier League sides still in danger of slipping into trouble go head-to-head on the south coast this weekend.

Southampton have recovered brilliantly from that 9-0 thrashing at the hands of Leicester City but are still only seven points above the relegation zone going into this weekend.

Meanwhile, Burnley are only above Southampton on goal difference and the loser of this one might be looking over their shoulder if results elsewhere favour the other strugglers.

But who will come out on top at St. Mary’s? Read on for our preview, predictions, possible line-ups, live steam information and more.

Ones to watch

Southampton: Kyle Walker-Peters

Kyle Walker-Peters was ineligible to play against Tottenham in Southampton’s last game, both because he is on loan from Spurs and he wasn’t registered for the original tie. But the right-back is likely to make his debut this weekend.

It has been difficult to asses just how good Walker-Peters is during his time at Tottenham. Used sporadically by Mauricio Pochettino and even more rarely by Jose Mourinho, the 22-year-old has shown promise but not enough to play regularly for a top-six side.

It’s now time for him to test himself at the kind of level he will hoping to play at for the next few years.

Key stat: Walker-Peters has played just 242 minutes of Premier League football so far this season.

Burnley: Dwight McNeil

Walker-Peters will be given a difficult test on his debut as he is set to go up against Dwight McNeil, one of the most quietly effective wingers in the Premier League.

McNeil possesses the rare ability of getting multiple crosses into the box without actually beating his marker; he is able to shift the ball out of his feet and curl in accurate deliveries with relative ease, something Walker-Peters must be wary of and adapt to early.

Indeed, the battle down Southampton’s right and Burnley’s left looks like it will be the key contest at St. Mary’s.

Key stat: McNeil has created more chances than any other Burnley player in the Premier League this term (35).

Matthew Lowton replaced Phil Bardsley.

Squawka prediction

Home advantage could have a big say here. Southampton are finally enjoying playing in front of their fans again, while Burnley would rather this one be at Turf Moor, where they would be more likely to pick up all three points. If the Saints can remain tight at the back, they have a good chance of edging past the Clarets.

Scoreline prediction: Southampton 2-1 Burnley
