Solskjaer uncertain of Lukaku’s Man Utd future
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted he is uncertain whether Romelu Lukaku will still be at the club next season.
Speculation linking the Belgian forward with a move to Inter Milan has been gaining serious momentum over the past few weeks, but the Red Devils have reportedly told the Italian club to cough up circa £80m to prise him away from Old Trafford.
Could Lukaku join Inter? Five things to know…
- Lukaku has made no secret of his “dream” to one day move to Serie A.
- As such, Inter Milan have been heavily associated with his name.
- Lukaku’s agent recently commented that Inter are going “all out” to sign him.
- But, reports suggest Man Utd have told the Italian outfit to pay £79m for his services.
- And Solskjaer has now stated that the club “have not had any bids that we are considering”.

Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio was in London earlier this week to discuss details with Man Utd officials, while the 26-year-old was recently left out of the club’s 2-0 win over Perth Glory due to a minor knock.
Solskjaer believes his current No 9 will be fit for Wednesday’s friendly against Leeds United, but he is unsure whether the forward will still be at the club come August 11.
“He should be fit for Wednesday, He trained with the team yesterday but it was not useful today to risk him,” Solskjaer said.
When quizzed whether Lukaku will still be at the club next season, Solskjaer replied: “Let’s see when the season starts. We have not had any bids that we are considering.
“You guys will know something next week.”

Pogba to become new Man Utd captain?
Another player seemingly angling for a Man Utd exit is World Cup winner Paul Pogba, who has been mooted with a move to Real Madrid.
However, Solskjaer has now poured cold water on speculation linking his midfielder with a move to the Bernabeu by revealing the Frenchman is under consideration to become the club’s new skipper.
He said: “We have got a few possibilities there. When the season starts we will announce [someone].
“Ashley [Young] will wear it when he is playing until we decide on someone.”
Asked whether Pogba is being considered for the position, Solskjaer replied: “Yeah.”
