Slutsk vs Energetik-BGU: Belarus Premier League preview & live stream information

Published: 9:44, 8 May 2020

Belarusian table-toppers Slutsk play host to fourth-place Energetik-BGU this Friday looking to further consolidate their standing in first.

Just four points separates Slutsk from their visitors later this week in the Belarusian Premier League, so manager Vitaliy Pavlov knows points must be put on the board at the City Stadium or his side risk losing ground atop the table.

For ‘the Students’, a win over Smolevichi last time out ended a barren run of three consecutive defeats and the Minsk-based club will be desperate to keep that run going and gain some momentum in these early stages.

Ones to watch

Slutsk: Umar Bala Mohammed

The 22-year-old Nigerian midfielder joined the Belarusian outfit from Kada City in his native Nigeria earlier this year and has so far this season been directly involved four goals over six games.

Bala scored twice in the decisive 3-2 victory over Belshina last month as well as the winner in the previous game against Shakhtyor. He also helped himself to an assist.

Key stat: Umar Bala Mohammed is currently Slutsk’s top goalscorer in the Belarusian Premier League this season with three goals.

Energetik-BGU: Jasurbek Yakhshiboev

The talismanic Uzbekistan international has been a difference-maker for Vladimir Belyavskiy this season. On loan from Pakhtakor Tashkent in his homeland, it seems the 22-year-old has been a revelation at the RCOR-BGU Stadium thus far.

With six direct contributions to his name in seven games, including a brace against perennial champions BATE Borisov in the league’s curtain-raiser, Yakhshiboev is a man in form.

Key stat: Jasurbek Yakhshiboev is currently Slutsk’s leading goalscorer in the Belarusian Premier League this season with four goals.
