Besiktas vs Sivasspor build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
Besiktas started their title defence in good fashion, winning four of their opening five matches, but Sergen Yalcin’s men are currently experiencing a slump. It really started with a 2-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in their opening Champions League group stage match, though they did temporarily bounce back to beat Antalyaspor in their next game. However, since that victory, Besiktas have gone three games without a win, drawing with Adana Demirspor (thanks to a 97th-minute Britt Assombalonga equaliser) before losing to Altay and Ajax in the Turkish Super Lig and Champions League respectively.
Sivasspor, meanwhile, have turned their season around after starting with consecutive league defeats. Defeats to Konyaspor and Trabzonspor were coupled by a 7-1 aggregate defeat to FC Copenhagen in the Europa Conference League play-offs, but since being able to focus fully on domestic football, Sivasspor have been in decent form. They are currently unbeaten in five league matches with draws against Goztepe, Fenerbahce and Gaziantep followed by wins over Yeni Malatyaspor and Fatih Karamgumruk.
- Besiktas (vs Ajax): Destanoglu; Rosier, Saatci, N’Sakala, Meras; Souza; Karaman, Bozdogan, Ucan, Yilmaz; Batshuayi.
- Sivasspor (vs Fatih Karamgumruk): Yildirim; Oguz, Osmanpasa, Goutas, Ciftci; Fajr, Arslan; Henrique, Jorge Felix, Gradel; Kayode.
Besiktas remain without a host of players including Cyle Larin, Mehmet Topal, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, Rachid Ghezzal, Miralem Pjanic and Atiba Hutchinson. Sivasspor, meanwhile, are missing Leke James and Aaron Appindangoye through injury.

Player to watch: Faycal Fajr (Sivasspor)
Many may expect Besiktas to get back to winning ways here but Sivasspor will certainly cause them problems, and could look to utilise Faycal Fajr.
The 33-year-old is in his second season with Sivasspor after joining from Getafe last year and has been a big creative threat in the early stages of 2021/22. Fajr has so far created 20 chances in the Turkish Super Lig this season, with only Guilherme of Konyaspor managing more across the division. From those 20 chances, Fajr has recorded three assists, more than any other Sivasspor player and again second in the league (this time only behind Istanbul Basaksehir’s Edin Visca).
Besiktas are averaging a goal conceded per game in the Turkish Super Lig this season, and if Fajr can pull the strings, Sivasspor could exploit the defence.
