Sevilla vs Osasuna build-up & previous line-ups:
After their opening 10 league outings, this season Sevilla find themselves sitting in third and three points behind early La Liga leaders Real Sociedad but crucially Julen Lopetegui’s men have a game in hand. However, last time out, the Andalusia-based side couldn’t make it three league wins on the bounce as they snatched a point from the jaws of defeat against Mallorca on the road. Things couldn’t be any more different at home: Sevilla have won their last six games at Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stretching back into last season. In fact, the Rojiblancos have won 10 of their previous home games with the only exception being a 0-1 loss to Athletic Bilbao in May 2021, so far they’re perfect this season — five wins from five played — subsequently netting 14 goals and conceding four times.
Not that far behind Sevilla in the young La Liga championship standing is Osasuna, who come into this weekend’s showdown unbeaten in their previous five league matches (three wins and two draws), Los Rojillos are seventh and two points adrift of their upcoming opponents. That being said, Arrasate’s side are on a two-game winless run heading into this latest round of fixtures, before consecutive draws against Granada (1-1) and Real Madrid (0-0) they managed to string together three wins on the bounce. That aforementioned point at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu preserved their unbeaten status away from home this season but subsequently ended a four-game winning streak on the road. This will be Osasuna’s 39th visit to Sevilla and on those previous occasions, they’ve returned home with five victories with the most recent coming in February 2006 (0-1).

Player to watch: Erik Lamela (Sevilla)
Hopes were high when Erik Lamela joined Tottenham for a then club record in 2013, but the Argentine midfielder-cum-forward never reached those expected heights, having bagged 37 goals across 257 appearances in all competitions. He’d leave in the summer, with Bryan Gil going the other way, and since relocating to Sevilla the 29-year-old has been pulling up trees. Lamela comes into this latest round of La Liga fixtures as his club’s leading marksman (four goals) with his most recent strike coming last time out against Mallorca that 73rd-minute effort ultimately salvaged a point. It’s also worth noting across Sevilla’s opening 10 matches Lamela has started on three occasions while completing the full 90 minutes just once (against Valencia on matchday six).
