Sevilla team news
After sitting second in the table for much of the season, a recent loss of form, combined with Barcelona’s surge in the league has dropped Sevilla to third place, just three points ahead of Atlético de Madrid and Real Betis (though they’ve got a game in hand on Betis).
Sevilla have won just one of their last five in the league (and one of six in all competitions), though that triumph did come in their most recent, at home against Granada, when they put forth a performance deserving of a decisive win, but only secured a 4-2 thanks to two stoppage time goals.
That lofty tally aside, however, Sevilla have been downright anaemic in attack, with just two goals in their last six game in all competitions. On the bright side, La Liga’s top defensive side (just 22 goals conceded in 31 matches) has continued to keep the ball out of the net, having allowed just four goals in those six games.
Sevilla remain strong favorites to finish third in the league, though doing so will require results. Regardless of venue or circumstance, Real Madrid will always pose a massive challenge. However, with the league all been sorted and the Champions League front and center, there’s probably no better time to run into the league leaders.
Sevilla predicted XI: Bono; Acuña, Diego Carlos, Koundé, Navas; Rakitić, Jordán, Corona; Gómez, Mir, Ocampos

Real Madrid team news
It would be ridiculous to suggest that Real Madrid are simply going to mail in a league contest against a fellow top-three side. However, given the battle required to overcome Chelsea in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, and the lack of any risk to their standing atop La Liga, and the fact that Casemiro, Marcelo and Ferland Mendy will not be in action, it would not be surprising to see Los Blancos drop points away from home.
Of course, with all of that said, Karim Benzema, who’s currently in the form of his life, is still on hand as are Luca Modrić, Tony Kroos and Vinícius Júnior. Even a team that’s a bit tired, secure atop the league table and slightly less than 100% motivated will always have a chance with that group on the pitch.
Real Madrid predicted XI: Courtois; Carvajal, Militão, Alaba, Fernández; Valverde, Modrić, Kroos; Rodrygo, Benzema, Vinícius Júnior
