Player to watch: Andreas Skov Olsen (Denmark)

There are examples of players struggling to replicate their club form at international level. It’s rare, but the opposite is true, a contemporary example is Bologna forward Andreas Skov Olsen who has been tearing it up for Denmark as they look forward to next year’s World Cup finals. Skov Olsen has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth in Serie A this season. He’s featured 10 times for Bologna while completing the full 90 minutes just once. Since making his national team debut in October 2020 he’s gone on to win 14 caps subsequently registering six goals and creating five more. Skov Olsen goes into the game against Scotland having scored three times across his previous four international matches and is the Dane’s leading scorer in their 2022 WCQ campaign on five goals.
