Sadio Mane’s exit could have a “huge impact” on Liverpool, says international teammate Edouard Mendy
Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy believes Sadio Mane’s exit from Liverpool could have a “huge impact” on the club.
The Senegal international called time on his career at Anfield earlier this summer after leaving them for Bayern Munich, ending a six-year, trophy-spangled association with Jurgen Klopp’s men in the process, during which time he won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.
The 30-year-old was picked up by Julian Nagelsmann in a deal worth £28m, and will go a long way to alleviating the recent attacking void created by Robert Lewandowski, whose £38.3m move to Barcelona was confirmed last week.

Klopp, though has done his own business in the final third to remedy Mane’s departure, following up the winter capture of Luis Diaz with the £64m signing of Darwin Nunez this summer, and attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho from recently-promoted Fulham for £5m.
Despite Klopp bolstering his frontline with one of the sport’s most sought-after forwards, Chelsea stopper Mendy believes his Senegal compatriot’s exit from Anfield will have significant ramifications for the Liverpool.
