Romelu Lukaku has suggested Manchester United already know the decision he’s made about his future amid reports linking him with Inter Milan.

The Belgian has subsequently labelled new Inter boss Antonio Conte “the best coach in the world” as speculation about his future continues to mount.

Why is Lukaku’s Man Utd future in doubt? Five key things to know…

  1. Lukaku scored 27 goals across all competition in his debut season at United after joining from Everton in 2017.
  2. His second season was less impressive, seeing him find the net just 15 times.
  3. The striker failed to score in his final eight appearances of the 2018/19 season.
  4. Lukaku almost re-joined Conte’s Chelsea in 2017 and now could play for the Italian at Inter.
  5. In contrast to his club form, the former Toffee has scored seven goals in his last six appearances for Belgium.

Lukaku scored a brace in Belgium’s Euro 2020 qualifying victory over Scotland on Tuesday night, helping his side to a 3-0 win.

Speaking after the match, the 26-year-old hinted he has already told Manchester United where he wants to play football next season.

“It’s good that Conte went to Inter, for me he is the best coach in the world,” Lukaku said.

“As for my future, I have already made a decision that I still cannot communicate publicly out of respect for Manchester United with whom I have a contract.”

Lukaku wouldn’t be the first Belgium star to leave the Premier League this summer with Eden Hazard having joined Real Madrid from Chelsea.
