Jose Mourinho continues his pre-season preparations with Roma when his side take on Hungarian club Debreceni VSC at Frosinone’s Stadio Benito Stirpe on Sunday at 6pm (UK time).
The former Tottenham manager has overseen a successful summer so far, with the Giallorossi winning three friendlies on the spin by an aggregate scoreline of 13-0, and he will be looking to keep that momentum going as the clock ticks down for Serie A’s starting line in late August.

Roma vs Debreceni VSC build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
Roma kicked off their summer with a thumping 10-0 win over Valdinievole Montecatini earlier this month, giving Mourinho the perfect start to his tenure and an opportunity to assess his playing squad ahead of what will be a gruelling Serie A campaign. The Eternal City club have stayed close to home for their summer so far, but this contest against Debreceni VSC will mark their final friendly in Italy, with Mourinho’s men jetting off to Portugal and then Spain for their final two warm-ups against Porto and Real Betis. In Debreceni VSC, they face a side coached by 38-year-old Szabolcs Huszti, formerly of Eintracht Frankfurt, Metz and Hannover 96 during his playing career. The 51-capped Hungary international hung up his boots last year and this marks his first venture into the dugout. He will certainly be relishing the chance to pit his tactical wits against the elite coaching mind of Mourinho.

Player to watch: Nicolo Zaniolo (Roma)
The 22-year-old has had ill-luck with injury problems during his short career, but he is now back to full fitness and will be champing at the bit to showcase his worth to Mourinho this summer. The rising Italian star clashed with Triestina defender Walter Lopez during Roma’s last friendly before Lorenzo Pellegrini stepped in to separate the bickering duo, but he will be hoping to let his feet do the talking in this match-up against a side that boast the likes of Balazs Dzsudzsak, who was bought for a king’s ransom by Anzhi Makhachkala in 2011. Zaniolo would have unquestionably been in Roberto Mancini’s Euro 2020 squad this summer were it not for his injury troubles, and this could be a big season in determining whether he can rediscover his previous form and nudge his way into Italy’s squad for the World Cup next year.
