Juventus will put their unbeaten run in Serie A on the line when they face Roma at Stadio Olimpico this Sunday evening (17:30 UK time).

Last time out the Old Lady were held to a 1-1 draw against Napoli which means they’ve not tasted defeat for six consecutive games; this subsequently leaves them in fifth place, three points behind fourth-placed Atalanta who currently hold the last Champions League spot.

As for the Giallorossi they’re in seventh and come into this weekend’s showdown on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Milan ending a three-game unbeaten run.

Roma team news

A mini resurgence couldn’t be sustained as Roma come into this latest round of fixtures on a two-game winless streak. This means they could go three Serie A matches without victory under José Mourinho for the first time. They’ve also been struggling at home lately. After winning their opening four home games of this campaign the Romans have only managed to succeed in their six most recent Stadio Olimpico outings. That being said, no team has kept a clean sheet in more home matches than the Giallorossi this season (five). Absent this weekend are suspended duo Rick Karsdorp and Gianluca Mancini while new loan signing Ainsley Maitland-Niles could make his Serie A debut. His compatriot Tammy Abraham is aiming to score in two consecutive Italian top-flight games for the first time.

Roma predicted XI: Patricio; Ibanez, Smalling, Kumbulla; El Shaarawy, Cristante, Veretout, Pellegrini, Vina; Zaniolo, Abraham.

Juventus team news

Since a 0-1 home loss to Atalanta on matchday 14 there’s a semblance of momentum in Juventus’ sails who arrive in the Italian capital on a six-game unbeaten streak (four wins and two draws). However, they’re struggling in front of goal, the Old Lady last scored so few goals (28) after their opening 20 league fixtures of a Serie A campaign was in 1999/2000 (26). Also the last three times the Bianconeri accumulated 35 points or fewer at this stage of a campaign they’ve gone on to finish seventh (1998/99, 2009/10 and 2010/11). Massimiliano Allegri, who has gone unbeaten in three of five league showdowns against Mourinho (winning two – the most wins against the Portuguese coach in Italy’s top division) — comes into this meeting with skipper Giorgio Chiellini potentially available, but Leonardo Bonucci and Danilo are out through injury.

Juventus predicted XI: Szczesny; Cuadrado, De Ligt, Rugani, De Sciglio; McKennie, Locatelli, Bentancur; Chiesa, Morata, Dybala.
