Rennes and Lyon will square off at Roazhon Park on Saturday at 8:00pm (UK Time), with both sides looking to extend their good form in Ligue 1.

Rennes are unbeaten in five league games at the moment, although they only managed a 0-0 draw on the road at Nantes in midweek. Prior to this goalless stalemate, Rennes did well to win four consecutive games in Ligue 1. Rennes currently sit fourth in the league table, seven points behind the current leaders and Saturday’s opponents, Lyon. Rennes haven’t been playing very good football while on home soil this season, but their recent form has seen them win the most recent two home matches. Julien Stephan’s men have kept four clean sheets in their last five Ligue 1 outings while conceding just once against Marseille.

Meanwhile, Lyon have had an excellent first half of the season. Their sole defeat in 18 rounds was against Montpellier back in September 2020, in a game in which they had to play with 10 men for an entire half. Lyon are currently on a 15-game unbeaten streak in Ligue 1, including the 3-2 home victory over Lens in midweek. Jean-Michel Aulas’ side have been scoring goals for fun throughout this campaign and are currently the second-best goalscorers in the division with a tally of 37 in just 18 rounds. They have netted at least two goals in each of their last four league games, but they have also conceded five in the process.

Can Rennes keep a fourth consecutive clean sheet in Ligue 1, or will Lyon extend their unbeaten streak to 16 league games?
