Real Madrid vs Getafe predictions, line ups, live stream and TV info | La Liga preview

Real Madrid can take a big step towards the La Liga title when they host Getafe in Thursday’s 9pm kick-off.
Los Blancos have the opportunity to go four points clear at the top of the table with five games remaining after local rivals Atletico Madrid did them a big favour by drawing 2-2 with second-placed Barcelona on Tuesday night.
It was Barcelona‘s second consecutive 2-2 draw which, combined with Real Madrid’s winning run since La Liga returned, has turned the title race in Los Blancos’ favour.
Up next for Real are fifth-placed Getafe, who are looking to keep their Champions League hopes alive. Getafe are currently five points behind Sevilla in fourth but have a game in hand over the Andalusians. However, to close that gap they will need to do something they haven’t done in 12 games: beat Real Madrid.

Real Madrid & Getafe’s previous line-ups:
- Real Madrid (vs Espanyol): Courtois; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo; Valverde, Casemiro, Kroos; Isco, Benzema, Hazard.
- Getafe (vs Real Sociedad): Soria; Suarez, Etxeita, Rodriguez, Olivera; Nyom, Maksimovic, Arambarri, Cucurella; Duro, Mata.
Neither side has any fresh absentees, but Getafe will be boosted by the return of Djene from suspension who could go straight back into the defence.
Players to watch:
Real Madrid: Karim Benzema has undoubtedly been Real Madrid’s star of La Liga since the league returned in June, and is one of the big reasons for Los Blancos taking control of the title race. The Frenchman has scored three goals and recorded one assist – a lovely backheel for Casemiro’s winning goal against Espanyol – in five matches so far. Only Lionel Messi (8) has been directly involved in more La Liga goals since its return. Throughout the season as a whole, again it is only Messi (39) who has been directly involved in more La Liga goals than Benzema’s 24, scoring 17 and adding seven assists. Previously having to deal with playing in the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema has used this season to remind everyone of his abilities as a centre-forward, both in front of goal and when setting up teammates. It’s hard to envisage where Real Madrid would be this season without the Frenchman.
Karim Benzema has now been directly involved in all three of Real Madrid's goals against Espanyol this season.

Getafe: While a lot of the focus in recent weeks has been on the pitch, there is still a lot going on off it, including the future of Marc Cucurella. The Spaniard, who started his career as a full-back, has spent the season on loan at Getafe from Barcelona, a decision that angered some Blaugrana fans hoping he would challenge Jordi Alba for his spot in the first-team. Any hopes of that still happening next season have now been ended. Getafe exercised their €10m option to sign him permanently, with Barcelona due 10% of any future transfer fee. The 21-year-old has had a good season for Getafe as they search for Champions League football, having missed just one game. But instead of playing in his initial full-back position, Cucurella has spent most of the campaign on the left-side of midfield, from where he has scored one goal and recorded five assists (the latter total is a team-high for Getafe this season).
