RB Leipzig vs Bochum build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
Leipzig recovered well from their shock 3-2 defeat to Mainz, beating fellow Bundesliga high-flyers Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 on Saturday to maintain control of second place in the league.
Attention now turns to the cup and Nagelsmann will expect nothing less than a win against lower league opposition as both he and Leipzig go in search of their first piece of major silverware.
That said, Bochum are going well in the 2. Bundesliga and are in the thick of the promotion hunt. Thomas Reis’ side are second after 19 games and were enjoying an eight-game unbeaten run across all competitions, although that was ended by Karlsruher on Sunday. Leipzig will underestimate Bochum at their own peril.
- RB Leipzig (vs Leverkusen): Gulacsi; Mukiele, Upamecano, Klostermann; Kampl; Adams, Tasende, Olmo, Sabitzer; Sørloth, Nkunku.
- Bochum (vs Karlsruher): Riemann; Gamboa, Bella-Kotchap, Leitsch, Soares; Losilla, Tesche; Holtmann, Zulj, Bockhorn; Zoller.
The likes of Konrad Laimer, Ibrahima Konate and Benjamin Henrichs are still sidelined for RB Leipzig, although Marcel Sabitzer was fit enough to start against Leverkusen. Danny Blum and Vasilis Lampropoulos are out for the visitors.

Player to watch: Yussuf Poulsen (RB Leipzig)
Yussuf Poulsen has struggled for starting minutes so far this season, with 12 of his 24 appearances across all competitions coming from the bench. However, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t made his presence felt.
On top of his four Bundesliga goals and a strike in the Champions League, the Denmark international has found the net against Nürnberg and Augsburg in the previous two rounds of this competition, despite playing just 58 minutes across two substitute appearances so far.
February sees the return of the Champions League and, should they progress in this competition, there could be a real fixture pile-up for Leipzig, so Naglesmann is going to need every single player in his squad fit and ready when called upon. Having played Leverkusen just a few days ago, the German tactician is likely to rotate and give Poulsen the nod here. Bochum’s centre-backs are unlikely to relish going up against his physical and robust approach.
