Worst to Best: Man Utd and Liverpool players this season

Manchester United and Liverpool have had very different starts to the 2019/20 Premier League season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are languishing in 12th place in the table with a paltry two wins to their name.

The Red Devils’ squad is looking threadbare, to say the least, and a big battle to achieve a top-four finish appears to be on the horizon.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp’s men are flying high in first place with a 100% record. In short, things could not be going much better for the Redmen.

The Merseysiders boast an eight-point lead at the summit and will equal Manchester City’s record of 18 consecutive top-flight victories if they win at Old Trafford this weekend.

With the two sides experiencing such contrasting fortunes, squad comparisons have been a significant talking point in the build up to Sunday’s game.

Are Liverpool really that far ahead of their rivals? Would any of Klopp’s fringe players stroll into Manchester United’s starting line up?

Opinions have been flying around all week and it’s clear that Liverpool are sitting pretty in most peoples’ eyes, with some pundits even going so far as to completely discount Manchester United from ‘Combined XIs’ and the like.

So, with that in mind, we asked one Manchester United fan and one Liverpool fan to sit down and rank each set of players’ performances this season from worst to best – in one combined list.

Watch the video at the top of the article to hear Adam McKola and Paul Machin rank the Man Utd and Liverpool squads in full.
