Rangers team news

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be eager to test out a number of his new recruits this week, not least Welsh attacking duo Tom Lawrence and Rabbi Matondo who joined from Derby and Schalke respectively. Antonio Colak and John Souttar have also been signed, the latter joining after his contract at Heart of Midlothian expired, while promising Bayern Munich midfielder Malik Tillman comes in on loan for the season.

West Ham team news

Moyes got a chance to see some of his new recruits in action over the weekend as his side drew 1-1 with Reading. Nayef Aguerd, Alphonse Areola and Flynn Downes were all afforded minutes, while the international players have since returned to the squad and got their first run-out of the summer, including Declan Rice, Jarrod Bowen and Vladimir Coufal.

Academy prospect Divin Mubama has also featured extensively for West Ham this summer, and the 17-year-old has backed himself to follow in the same trajectory as Rice and Ben Johnson, hoping to ask questions of Moyes in the first-team.

He told the club’s official website: “There is always a chance and a pathway and it’s up to you how much you really want it. I think there’s a pathway here and I’m going to keep working hard and whatever happens, happens.”

The teenage talent got on the scoresheet in West Ham’s opening pre-season fixture against Servette, and he described the moment as a “dream”, adding: “That was a bit of a dream moment. I was about to celebrate, but I forgot it was pre-season! It was a special moment and I enjoyed it and hopefully there will be many more to come for this club.”

Scoreline prediction: Rangers 2-2 West Ham
