The Championship may be England’s second tier but many believe it is one of the toughest leagues in Europe. And it’s easy to see why.
Before you even take the three relegated teams from the Premier League into account, it’s clear the Championship has a batch of squads capable of challenging for top spot and the subsequent play-off places.
But when you throw in those three former top-flight sides, further chaos ensues as almost all of the 24 teams have one goal: make it to the Premier League.
The 2019/20 campaign has been no different and, with the finish line fast approaching, there is no telling who will finish top of the Championship.
West Bromwich Albion currently lead the way and sit four points clear of second-placed Leeds United but their spot at the top is anything but secure.
Level on points with Leeds are Fulham, while Nottingham Forest and Brentford are just one and two points behind respectively – that’s six points separating first and fifth with just under a third of the season still to come.
The destination of the 2019/20 title is too hard to call but how well do to remember the last 10 Championship seasons and, more importantly, who finished top of the pile?
We’ve given you (a very generous) five minutes to do your best and we’ll leave you with a small clue, only one team has won it twice in the past 10 years. Good luck!
