Qatar vs USA build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
Very clearly not a CONCACAF side, Qatar have been invited to take part in the 2021 and 2023 Gold Cups and were placed in a group alongside Honduras, Panama and Grenada. The Asian Cup holders started their first Gold Cup campaign with a 3-3 draw against Panama but that would be the only time they dropped points, or conceded goals, in the group. Grenada and Honduras were brushed aside with 4-0 and 2-0 victories respectively, setting Qatar up for a quarter-final against El Salvador, which they won 3-2.
United States came into the Gold Cup as the early favourites, as they usually do, and they have lived up to expectations at the tournament. The hosts were placed in Group B alongside Haiti, Martinique and Canada, with the latter their only true test in the opening three matches. But Canada were beaten 1-0 in the final group game, after USMNT had already got past Haiti (1-0) and Martinique (6-1) to secure their spot in the knockout stages. That Martinique strike, a penalty scored by Emmanuel Riviere, is the only goal USMNT have conceded at the Gold Cup so far as they also beat Jamaica 1-0 to reach the semi-finals.

Neither side has any fresh concerns.

Key player: Matthew Hoppe (USA)
Although Schalke were terrible in the Bundesliga last season, one of their bright sparks was Matthew Hoppe and he would have hoped to carry his good performances into the Gold Cup with USMNT.
The 20-year-old only made his senior international debut at the Gold Cup, starting in the 6-1 win over Martinique in which he set up Daryl Dike’s opening goal. Hoppe only made a brief appearance in the final group game against Canada but returned to start as USMNT took on Jamaica, proving to be the vital component of their win.
USMNT were made to work hard for their victory over Jamaica and they didn’t take the lead until the 83rd minute, when Hoppe headed in from Cristian Roldan’s cross for his first senior international goal, and he’ll be hoping for a repeat en route to a potential Gold Cup final.
