PSV Eindhoven will be looking to register back-to-back wins in the Eredivisie when they host PEC Zwolle at the Philips Stadion on Saturday evening (20:00 UK time).
De Boeren last won successive games in the Dutch top division in early September and since then it’s been two wins across four matches played. As for PEC they are winless and sit rock bottom having picked up a single point to date.

PSV vs PEC Zwolle build-up & previous line-ups:
Just when it seemed Ajax were creating some distance sitting atop of the Eredivisie table, especially after PSV suffered two defeats across three games in September, the gap from top spot to second place is one point heading into matchday nine. Roger Schmidt’s men needed to capitalise following the Amsterdammers suffering their first league defeat of this season and they did so by the skin of their teeth against Sparta Rotterdam before the recent international break. That slender 2-1 success at the Philips Stadion saw them return to successful ways as well as it being their fourth win in five previous home matches. PSV also come into this particular fixture having just four of their previous 21 matches against PEC Zwolle in Eindhoven.
The visitors from Zwolle last returned home with all three points in January 2013 when they ran out 1-3 winners. On that day Fred Benson grabbed a brace while Erik Pieters was shown red for the hosts. Art Langeler, the current PEC boss, was also in charge back then and he’ll be hoping for another similar result. The chances of accomplishing that seem remote given the Bluefingers form of late. They come into this game sitting dead bottom having won none of their opening eight games — the only winless Eredivisie club so far this season — while losing on seven occasions. Stretching back into last season they’ve lost 10 of their last 11 road trips (sole exception was a 0-2 victory at Heerenveen in April 2021) including a 4-2 loss at PSV in May 2021.
- PSV (vs Sparta Rotterdam): Drommel; Mwene, Ramalho, Boscagli, Max; Van Ginkel, Sangaré; Doan, Götze, Gakpo; Zahavi.
- PEC Zwolle (vs Heerenveen): Lamprou; Pabai, Kersten, Van Polen, Nakayama; Strieder, Huiberts, Saymak; Redan, Tedic, Kastaneer.

Players to watch: Bruma (PSV)
With the potential absence of wingers Cody Gakpo, Noni Madueke and Ritsu Doan there’s more than a strong chance 26-year-old Portuguese forward Bruma re-enters Roger Schmidt’s starting lineup. Before the season it felt that he’d been on his way out of Eindhoven, but a departure never transpired and the former Galatasaray man — who spent last season on loan at Olympiacos — has made 12 appearances for PSV in all competitions subsequently registering three goals and one assist. Of those outings six came in the Eredivisie though Bruma has completed the full 90 minutes just once; last time out he was an unused substitute in their 2-1 home win over Sparta Rotterdam, but in two of his previous three starts for De Boren he’s managed one strike and created another.
