PSV vs PAOK build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:

After finishing 16 points adrift of Ajax in second last season, PSV will look to ramp up their pre-season preparations here ahead of the new Eredivisie campaign. Roger Schmidt’s side have a Champions League second qualifying round clash with Galatasaray coming up, so they’ll need to iron out any creases in their game on Wednesday.

Though they ultimately finished well adrift of winners Olympiacos, PAOK still did well to finish second and seal a Greek Cup title in 2020/21. Răzvan Lucescu’s side have ties against Heracles and Feyenoord coming up as part of this Dutch tour, ensuring they’ll be well-tuned as they seek to mount another challenge on the Greek title this season.

  • PSV (vs Vfl Osnabruck): Drommel; Mwene, Ramalho, Boscagli, Max; Van Ginkel, Sangare; Madueke, Gotze, Vertessen; Zahavi.
  • PAOK (vs Volos): Z.Zivkovic; Lyratzis, Crespo, Mihaj, Rodrigo; Schwab, Tsingaras; A.Zivkovic, Lamprou; Gordeziani, Tzolis.

Richie Ledezma and Maxime Delanghe are both injured for the hosts, while Donyell Malen is highly unlikely to feature as he edges closer to his Borussia Dortmund move. PAOK have no injuries to report for this friendly.

Player to watch: Noni Madueke

With over 20 caps for England at youth level, Noni Madueke is another rising star plying his trade on the continent that Gareth Southgate will be keeping a close eye on this season. The 19-year-old notched an impressive eight goals and six assists across 31 Eredivisie and continental appearances last term (starting just 15 of them), turning defenders inside-out with his pace and trickery.

With Malen looking set to leave for Dortmund to replace Jadon Sancho, the pressure on Madueke to deliver in the final third for PSV will increase. A goal or two during pre-season would do the teenager’s confidence absolutely no harm heading into the new campaign.
