Tottenham vs Brighton Stats

  • Tottenham haven’t lost a home game against Brighton & Hove Albion since a 0-1 league defeat back in 1981.
  • Brighton are unbeaten in their last seven matches in all competitions, although four of those games have ended in draws.
  • No team has won fewer possessions in the attacking third than Tottenham in the Premier League this season, with the Lilywhites regaining the ball in the opponents’ defensive third just 74 times so far.
  • No team have made more tackles than Brighton in the Premier League this season with a total of 413.
  • The Seagulls are unbeaten in four visits to the capital so far, taking Premier League points from Brentford, Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Chelsea.

Tottenham vs Brighton Predictions

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping for some FA Cup success this season. Given the long wait for silverware that supporters in North London have suffered from, they won’t want to see the team bow out of the only competition they have a realistic chance of winning at this stage of the season.

The Lilywhites were almost given a shock in the last round though after League One Morecambe took a first-half lead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs managed to turn that game around and secure a 3-1 win, but overall they have lost three of their last five games, all to London rivals Chelsea, ahead of this tie with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Graham Potter’s men can make the trip to the capital in high spirits on Saturday night. On four previous trips to London this season the Seagulls remain unbeaten and what’s more, they haven’t lost in seven consecutive matches now in all competitions.

A push for a potential European qualification isn’t yet out of Brighton’s reach, but with no real threat of relegation looming over them following this strong run of form, they may see the FA Cup as a priority at this stage of the season. They progressed past Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion in Round Three with Neal Maupay scoring the winner in extra-time.

Surprisingly, Tottenham right wing-back Matt Doherty has averaged over 3 shots per 90 minutes played in the Premier League this season. The former Wolves man appears to be in favour for Antonio Conte over Emerson Royal at the moment and if he starts again here, we expect him to take a minimum of two shots at goal.

Spurs have managed just one clean sheet so far in 2022 and even conceded to League One opposition in Morecambe in the last round. Both teams have scored in each of Brighton’s last six games in all competitions and we expect the same again here.
