Premier League Gameweek 12 looks sets to be a cracker with the pick of the fixtures taking place at Anfield as Liverpool host Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp’s side could go nine points clear at the top of the table if they are victorious, so it’s no wonder the encounter is being billed as a potential title decider.

Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, has played down the significance of the trip to Merseyside but must know deep down that anything other than a win will represent a significant psychological blow to his players.

Norwich City and Watford kick the weekend off on Friday night, with both teams in desperate need of points at the foot of the table.

The Canaries’ surprise win over the reigning champions feels like an awful long time ago, while the Hornets are still searching for their maiden win of the campaign. Desperate measures are surely being called for by both Daniel Farke and Quique Sanchez Flores.

Chelsea host Crystal Palace in a London derby while Spurs face Sheffield United as they attempt to finally get their domestic season back on track.

However, pressure is building on Mauricio Pochettino and another week without a victory could see the tide of support finally turn against the Argentinian coach.

High-flying Leicester face Arsenal and a win for Brendan Rodgers’ side will see them pull nine points clear of their so-called top-four rivals, plus push Unai Emery’s future firmly back into the headlines.

Manchester United host Brighton on Sunday as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to avoid back-to-back defeats to South Coast clubs before the big finale at Anfield takes centre stage.

Guardiola and Klopp have exchanged thinly-veiled digs in the build-up to the game, but how will the two sides set up? And could we see the topic of tactical fouls or the subject of diving back on the agenda by full time?
