The ‘Premier League’, which is commonly referred to as the English Premier League or the EPL, is the top level of the English football league system. 20 elite clubs take part in the competition, which operates with a system of promotion and relegation. The bottom three teams are relegated to the EFL while the top four qualify for the Champions League. Europa League qualification can also be achieved via Premier League – and domestic cup – performances. Manchester City are the reigning Premier League champions while Manchester United are the most decorated team in the competition’s history. Premier League on TV and live stream

The return of the Premier League is resulting in a feast of football for viewers, with games being shown by a host of broadcasters including Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon Prime and BBC.

But perhaps the biggest news on this front for football fans is the confirmation that there will be a proportion of free-to-air games made available both on TV and – in some cases – via the broadcasters’ online platforms during the 2019/20 campaign.
