Manchester United will be looking to get their season back on track this weekend when they host Norwich City in the Premier League.

The Red Devils are without a win in their past three games across all competitions and were humbled by rivals Manchester City in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday.

The 3-1 defeat followed a goalless draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup and a 2-0 Premier League loss to Arsenal, leaving Man Utd five points off the top four.

But their opponents on Saturday are fighting for Premier League safety at the minute and sit rock bottom of the table after 21 games. Norwich City’s 4-2 win over Preston North End in the FA Cup brought an end to their eight-game winless streak which included four defeats.

Ones to watch

Man Utd: Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial scored twice as Manchester United beat Newcastle United on Boxing Day.

Although Marcus Rashford has rightly received a lot of plaudits for his season, Anthony Martial has also been contributing to keep Man Utd competitive in the Premier League.

The Frenchman, who has been leading the line for Man Utd, has seven goals in the Premier League and has added a further three assists. In his last three league matches Martial has scored three goals including two in a 4-1 win over Newcastle.

With Man Utd’s defence looking weak, the Red Devils may have to rely on their goals to get them through and if Martial, and Rashford, are on form it should be enough to seal a win.

Key stat: Manchester United are unbeaten in the nine games in which Anthony Martial has scored this season across all competitions, winning eight and drawing once.

Norwich: Adam Idah

Replacing Teemu Pukki is never going to be an easy task but Adam Idah did a pretty decent job of it in the FA Cup.

The teenager, who made his Premier League debut on New Year’s Day was handed his second start of the season against Preston with Pukki out injured, and showed why Daniel Farke possessed faith in him, scoring a hat-trick as part of Norwich’s 4-2 win.

With Pukki out, Idah starts his first Premier League game at Old Trafford and if he plays without fear as most teenagers do, the Irishman could cause the Man Utd defence some problems.

Key stat: Adam Idah is the youngest goalscorer for Norwich City in all competitions since Max Aarons against Cardiff in August 2018, scoring against Preston aged 18 years and 327 days.

Norwich

Adam Idah replaces the injured Teemu Pukki as the only change from Norwich’s previous Premier League outing, while Ralf Fahrmann returns to the bench after injury.

Confirmed XI: Krul; Aarons, Zimmermann, Hanley, Byram; Vrancic, Tettey; Buendia, McLean, Cantwell; Idah.

Squawka prediction

There’s no denying there are problems at Man Utd that need to be fixed, potentially through the use of the January transfer window.

But Norwich have won four games in all competitions this season and even though Man Utd are at a crossroads, they won’t be getting number five at Old Trafford.

Scoreline prediction: Man Utd 3-0 Norwich
