FC Porto will be looking to maintain their current Primeira Liga winning streak when they welcome Nacional to Estádio Do Dragão on Sunday evening (8pm kick-off, UK time).

Porto XI: Marchesin; Nanu, Mbemba, Leite, Sanusi; Corona, Oliveira, Uribe, Otavio; Taremi, Marega.

Nacional XI: Daniel; Freitas, Pedrao, Kal, Vigario; Camacho, Azouni, Alhassan, Danilovic, Gorre; Riascos.

The Dragons are third in the table, seven points behind early leaders Sporting CP and two off second-placed Benfica. Their opponents this weekend, Nacional, are in 11th but just three points off bottom, such is the closeness of the season so far.

FC Porto vs Nacional build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:

Porto have won their last three league games, registering eight goals while conceding five times, which has subsequently positioned them behind Lisbon giants Benfica and Sporting in the championship table.

At home, they’ve been near-imperious, winning nine of their previous 10 league outings, which illustrates the task at hand for Nacional, who have claimed just one success across fifteen Liga NOS away matches (which includes 12 defeats) heading into this weekend.

Will normal service be resumed or can Nacional cause an upset?

  • FC Porto (vs Paços de Ferreira): Costa; Nanu, Pepe*, Leite, Sarr; Corona, Oliveira, Uribe, Anderson; Díaz, Martínez.
  • Nacional (vs Santa Clara): Guimarães; Rouai, Kal, Pedrão, Vigário; Alhassan, Micael, Koziello; Camacho, Riascos, Gorré.

Pepe, who suffered a foot injury, has returned to training but this game comes too soon for the ex-Real Madrid defender, while Mouhamed Mbaye and Ivan Marcano are ruled out. Ruben Freitas plays for Nacional but Kalindi is out.

Player to watch: Sérgio Oliveira (FC Porto)

After spending the past couple of seasons on loan, there’s a spot back at FC Porto for Sérgio Oliveira who came up through the ranks.

He’s making the most of his minutes having scored four times across nine league appearances while picking up four assists. This makes Oliveira the most productive Porto player this term.

Chances are he’ll feature against Nacional, as the five-time Portugal international has started in eight of their last nine league outings. Nominally a central midfielder, Oliveira has failed to net in Porto’s last two league matches but given Nacional’s middling position in the table, he’ll fancy his chances of ending that drought.
