Spurs boss Pochettino confirms rotation plans ahead of Champions League opener
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino says he will opt to rotate his team with games coming thick and fast over the next couple of weeks.
Spurs began a period of seven matches, in three different competitions, across 21 days with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

Pochettino’s men will next face Olympiakos Piraeus (September 18) in Greece to begin their Champions League group phase campaign before visiting Leicester City (September 21) in the Premier League.
Following that is another game on the road at Colchester United (September 24) in the League Cup before welcoming Southampton (September 28) and Bayern Munich (October 1).
Rounding off this exhaustive run of games is a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion (October 5) meaning Pochettino is keen to use the full breadth of his playing squad.

“With this match [vs Palace] we have seven games in 21 days and all are going to have the possibility to play and we are going to rotate in different games,” he told reporters after a commanding win over Palace.
“That is the most important thing. We are going to give the chance to all the players to play and show their quality and fight for their place.
“I don’t care if there are injury worries [ahead of Olympiakos] because we are going to rotate anyway because we are going to play Saturday and then in the Carabao Cup, many games.

“Of course be ready, because I’m going to rotate the squad and the team and try to be creative on Tuesday and ask me not always the same questions always about when some players are not in the squad or team or this player is playing and not another.”
Bayern Munich and Red Star Belgrade are the other two teams in Tottenham’s Champions League group. The Bundesliga side are the favourites to progress as group winners and Pochettino’s men can scarcely afford any slip ups as they seek to secure a place in the knock-out stages.
