After a third-placed finish in the Euroleague last season, Milano will be hoping to go all the way to claim their first continental crown since the 1987/88 European Champions Cup, the former name of the Euroleague. The Italian side did get their quest off to the best possible start with a 69-62 win over LDLC ASVEL but they were brought back down to earth last time out.

In a tough game against German champions ALBA Berlin, Milano recovered from a dreadful first quarter to eventually draw level by the end of the final quarter to take the match to overtime at 70-70. But in the end, Berlin’s quality did win out with the German side eventually claiming a 80-74 victory, despite Kevin Pangos’ 16 points for Milano.

KK Partizan are one-time EuroLeague champions, taking the trophy in 1991/92 back when the regular season consisted of two groups. They have been absent from the competition since 2013/14, participating mostly in EuroCup, but qualified for this season as a wildcard entry. However, it hasn’t been a happy return.

After two matches Partizan sit bottom of the Euroleague table, with two defeats and a points difference of -16 — one worse than Bayern Munich and rivals Crvena zvezda. Partizan are slightly paying for a tough opening fixture list, losing to German champions ALBA Berlin in their first match before falling to Baskonia last time out, though they did take the Spaniards to overtime.
