‘He talks to me in perfect English’ – Pochettino reveals Mbappe asks him about the Premier League
Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed Kylian Mbappe regularly asks him about life in England and the Premier League.
Pochettino and Mbappe are said to have formed a blossoming relationship at the Parc des Princes since the Argentine coach relocated to the French capital in January.
The current Parisian boss was renowned for his man management skills during his stint as Tottenham head coach, developing a tight-knit group that went on to reach the 2018/19 Champions League final.

Pochettino is now just one step away from replicating that run to Europe’s showpiece event, with PSG set to take on Manchester City in the first leg of their semi-final showdown on Wednesday.

Ahead of the tie, Pochettino lifted the lid on some of the conversations he has with the 22-year-old, revealing they talk in three languages — French, English and Spanish — and that Mbappe regularly asks him about the Premier League.
“Kylian loves football, he loves to talk about football,” Pochettino said to The Guardian. “He asks about England – how is the game, the mentality and the culture there?

“He’s only 22 but very mature, confident in his talent and open. He can speak French, of course, but also perfect English and Spanish.
“I speak in English and Spanish with him – more English than Spanish. I said to him the other day: ‘I need to practise my French with you, to improve,’ and he said: ‘Sure, but it’s better for me to talk in English.’
“He loves to practise different languages.”

Speculation linking Mbappe with a move away from Paris has been rife in recent months, with the 22-year-old’s contract set to expire next summer.
A new deal is yet to transpire, but Pochettino revealed earlier this month that the club are “working” towards extending his stay at the Parc des Princes.
“The desire of the club is for him to stay, so they are working in that direction,” said Pochettino.
“Kylian is very mature despite his youth and at the moment he’s calm and focused on helping the team achieve their goals.”
