Paraguay and Bolivia meet in Goiania on Tuesday at 1am to kickstart their respective Copa America campaigns.
Two-time champions Paraguay will be aiming to end 41 years of heartache in the Copa America when they get their campaign underway in Brazil against perennial strugglers Bolivia, who have only made it out of the group stages once in the last eight editions of the South American competition.

Paraguay vs Bolivia build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
Paraguay, finalists in 2011, reached the quarter-finals in Brazil two years ago so will feel semi-confident of progressing past the groups and making a splash in the latter stages. However, under Eduardo Berizzo, former head coach of Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao, Los Guaranies are not in particularly good form, firing consecutive blanks in this month’s World Cup qualifiers, losing 2-0 to Brazil and drawing 0-0 with Uruguay.
Bolivia meanwhile enter the tournament fresh from a World Cup-qualifying win over Venezuela and a commendable 1-1 draw with Chile. However, successive group-stage exits in the Copa America will be a cause of concern for Cesar Farias, who will no doubt harbour aspirations of replicating the nation’s 1963 triumph.

Player to watch: Miguel Almiron (Paraguay)
A bit of an enigmatic attacker in the Premier League, there can be no denying the importance of Miguel Almiron to Paraguay. Since joining Newcastle from Atlanta United in 2018, the mercurial midfielder has blown hot and cold, capable of dazzling on his day, but often going under the radar when the going gets tough. That said, Almiron is a natural talent, manifest for anyone who has seen him in the flesh, with the 27-year-old capable of genuine moments of inspiration and wing-wizardry. With exceptional close control and a tricky pair of heels, Almiron will be Paraguay creative talisman, a player capable of releasing the pressure valve and conjuring a spark.
