On the other side of this game, Baskonia will be looking to build momentum after ending a minor losing streak. The Spanish side started the new campaign in the best possible way, winning their opening three games against Valencia, Partizan and Crvena zvezda, putting themselves among the early pacesetters. However, they then suffered a dip.
Baskonia’s first defeat of the season came against Olympiacos, who were also perfect in the EuroLeague, and will have been a sickener given the manner of the loss. The Spanish side went into the final quarter ahead by nine points but fell apart to eventually lose 97-92. They then lost to LDLC ASVEL 87-61 but returned to winning ways last time out with a 116-87 victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv.
