The Cricket World Cup gets continues on Saturday morning when South Africa and Sri Lanka clash (09:30 BST).

It was a disappointing World Cup for the Proteas in 2019, with a seventh placed finish in the points table being well below expectations for South Africa.

Sri Lanka finished one place, and one point, ahead of their opponents this weekend, but enter this match as the outsiders.

South Africa vs Sri Lanka Betting Tips

South Africa to sneak a win

Expectations are, once again, on South Africa to perform on the big stage and they are priced at 9/1 to win the competition outright.

Sri Lanka arrive for the tournament without the weight of expectation but are probably the side that are the biggest dark horses ahead of the first ball being played.

This should, on paper at least, be a tight match, with both squads having a good mix of dangerous bowlers and big hitters.

If South Africa can perform as they should, though, they should be able to grab the win. It won’t be an easy task though, and Sri Lanka will be dangerous opposition in what should be one of the most exciting matches in the early stages of the World Cup.
