Caroline Garcia gets her Cincinnati Open underway in the second round, having been given a bye as one of the top eight seeds at the tournament. The world No.6 is the defending champion in Cincinnati, beating Petra Kvitova in the final having entered the tournament as a qualifier. It came as part of a good period for Garcia as she also reached the semi-finals of the US Open and won the WTA Finals.
