Chelsea Women get their Champions League campaign underway when they face Real Madrid Women at Alfredo di Stéfano Stadium tonight and you can watch all the action here.

Emma Hayes leads her side into the Champions League for the final time this season, with the news that she will leave the club at the conclusion of the WSL season to become the new head coach of the US Women’s National Team. Hayes will be keen to add the Champions League to her extensive honours as a manager, having won the WSL on six occasions, including the last four campaigns in a row.

Chelsea made the semi-final of this competition last season, eventually losing out to Barcelona, and went one step close in the 2020/21 season, where they were beaten in the final to the same opposition. The likes of Sam Kerr, Fran Kirby and Lauren James will be aiming to go all the way this season, starting with a statement victory tonight.

You’ll be able to watch every minute of the action, for free, right here as Chelsea aim to opening their Champions League account with a victory.

Champions League Group D

Chelsea have found themselves drawn in to Group D of the Champions League alongside, their opponents tonight, Real Madrid, Paris FC and Hacken Women. The Blues are favourites to make it out of the group, and their match tonight is, on paper at least, the hardest task in making that happen.

Real Madrid failed to make it out of the group stage last season, a group that again featured Chelsea and they will face a tough task again this year around. Las Blancas are still waiting for their first trophy, with a 2nd place finish in Liga F last season being the closest they have come.

Paris FC have made only one appearance in the Champions League knockout stage, back in the 2011/12 season where they reached the semi-final before being beaten by Olympique Lyon.

BK Hacken are the outsiders in the group but have made the knockout stage of this competition in three of the last four years.
