The second round of the Cincinnati Open gets underway on Tuesday and it’s time for the big names to enter, with the top eight seeds getting involved. Ons Jabeur is the fifth seed for the tournament as she looks to build momentum ahead of the US Open, particularly with this being her first outing since Wimbledon.

The poor run started with the Eastbourne international, where Kalinina lost in the first round to Daria Kasatkina, before a second round exit at Wimbledon — she did at least beat Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in her first match. There were then first-round exits at the Citi Open and Canadian Open, but Kalinina ended a losing run by beating Zhu Lin 6-3, 7-5 in the first round of the Cincinnati Open.
