As for Dimitrov, the world No.17 has had to win five matches to reach this stage, taking out some massive names including Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Hubert Hurkacz. The Bulgarian has now won 43 of his 63 matches in 2023, including 10 of 13 on indoor hard, though that pales in comparison to Djokovic’s record of 50 wins from 55 overall.
Even more worrying for Dimitrov is the fact he’s emerged victorious just once from 12 previous meetings with Djokovic, including losing the last nine and last winning in May 2013.
