With qualification still the goal for New Zealand, they will need to win this match to ward off any threat from Pakistan and Afghanistan.

New Zealand to take huge step towards qualification

New Zealand, off the back of a four game losing run, come into the game knowing that a victory here would put them on the verge of qualification to the semi-final. Losses against India, South Africa, Australia and Pakistan have thrown their progress into doubt though, and the pressure is on for the side.

Sri Lanka are also on a poor run of form, losing their last three games and seeing their chances of making the final four ended. A win here would restore some pride for a Sri Lankan side that have underperformed in a tournament in which they were expected to be dark horses for.

New Zealand are favourites coming into the match, and should pick up the win, although the pressure is on with Pakistan and Afghanistan breathing down their necks.
