England will look to make it four wins from four at the Rugby World Cup when they face Samoa in their final Pool D match on Saturday at 4:45pm (UK time).

England have already guaranteed qualification, and top spot, in Pool D but momentum is key as they look to advance further into the competition. Samoa have disappointed so far but qualification is still possible, although they would need the right result in the Argentina vs Japan game.

England vs Samoa preview

Victories over Argentina, Japan and Chile have renewed hope that England could progress to the latter stage of this competition, something that not many people would’ve been too confident saying prior to the tournament starting.

Defence has been key for the side, with Steve Borthwick’s men conceding less points than any other nation so far. This was helped by the shoutout against Chile, where England won 71-0, but it’s been impressive, nonetheless.

Samoa have struggled so far, with their win over Chile being their only highlight. Narrow losses to Argentina, and Japan, have all but sealed their elimination and England will be looking for another convincing win to end their Pool D campaign.
