Back-to-back EuroLeague champions in 2020/21 and 2021/22, things haven’t been going well for Anadolu Efes. The Turkish side finished 11th in EuroLeague last season and they go into the 10th gameweek of the current campaign with a negative record. They opened the new season with back-to-back defeats against Barcelona and Real Madrid, which of course can be forgiven, before beating LDLC ASVEL and Valencia.

In fact, there has been a bit of a pattern to Anadolu Efes’ EuroLeague season so far. Two defeats, followed by two wins, followed by two defeats, followed by two wins, followed by… you get it. Except at the moment, it is only followed by one defeat, with Anadolu Efes’ losing to Olimpia Milano last time out. The question is, will the sequence continue or can Anadolu Efes end their losing streak after just one game.

They face a Partizan side also holding a negative record in EuroLeague this season, though they are above Anadolu Efes in the table on points difference as things stand. The Serbian side, who reached the playoffs last season, had a rocky start to the new campaign with just one win from their opening four games. But since ending that run, Partizan have been building a bit of a sequence themselves.

A win has been followed by a loss, and unfortunately for Partizan they won last time out against ALBA Berlin. It goes deeper than that too, with Partizan’s defeats all coming on the road. In fact, they have lost three of their four away games in EuroLeague this season, only managing to beat strugglers LDLC ASVEL in round two.
