We’re into the eighth round of games of the 2023/24 EuroLeague regular season and this matchup pits together the two worst teams in the league so far. ALBA Berlin have won just one of their seven games so far, in what is turning out to be another season of struggle in continental competitions. But ALBA Berlin are saved from the bottom of the table by LDLC ASVEL who, before their meeting, have a worse points differential at -77 compared to -58. The French side endured a tougher start to the season too, going five losses in a row before getting their first win

The season started in defeat to Crvena zvezda, and followed with further losses against Partizan, Anadolu Efes, Fenerbahce and Virtus Bologna. LDLC ASVEL then caught a Zalgiris team out of form in their 91-88 victory which included an 11-point swing in the final quarter. But they returned to losing ways with defeat to Monaco last time out.
