We’re into the second week of the new EuroLeague season, and both ALBA Berlin and Baskonia are searching for their first victory. Last season was one to forget for ALBA Berlin. They seriously capitulated in the third quarter, going down 25-7, and were unable to pull things back.
Baskonia, meanwhile, had heartbreak in regular season last year, missing out on playoffs by just one win, ending with a record of 18-16. They have started the 2023/24 campaign well, currently sitting second in Spain’s Liga ACB after four games with a record of 3-1. Baskonia only sit below Real Madrid in the league, and it was an all-Spanish clash in the EuroLeague opener.
Unfortunately for Baskonia, Real Madrid were their opponents and it was more heartbreak. Baskonia went into the final quarter leading 67-62 but eventually fell to a 77-79 defeat, dropping a couple of points late on.
