Nottingham Forest vs West Ham predicted XIs: Confirmed team news and probable lineups
Nottingham Forest are in the thick of the Premier League relegation battle but could sniff an opportunity when they welcome a wounded West Ham team to the City Ground on Saturday.
The Hammers were thrashed 6-0 on their own patch by Arsenal last time out, piling more pressure on under-fire boss David Moyes.
The Londoners suffered a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United beforehand and have not won a game in 2024, so a response will be expected when they travel to the East Midlands this weekend.
Is the pressure back on Moyes after Arsenal annihilation?
Despite sitting in a comfortable position in the Premier League table, West Ham fans were again voicing their discontent with manager David Moyes following last weekend’s humiliating defeat at home to London rivals Arsenal.
A 0-6 win for the title-chasing Gunners came at a bad time for Moyes as it extended his team’s winless run to seven games in all matches and that sequence has included a defeat to Championship side Bristol City in the FA Cup.
Unsurprisingly, Moyes was looking at the bigger picture following that defeat, when speaking to Sky Sports:
“Over the last three years it has been the best time West Ham have ever had. Sixth and seventh in
the league, semi-final of the Europa League, a final of a European cup competition and I still think this club has grown.”
But it’s not so much the results that have upset the London Stadium faithful as it is the style of play however. Will this trip to the City Ground signal a statement of intent to play more on the front foot from Moyes? It may need to if he wishes to remain in his post.
Nottingham Forest vs West Ham Team news
Chris Wood is still missing for Nottingham Forest due to a hamstring problem, while Gonzalo Montiel is a doubt.
West Ham’s only confirmed absentees are Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio but Moyes could make several changes following the 6-0 thrashing by Arsenal.
