Nimes vs PSG live stream: Watch Ligue 1 online

PSG will look to continue their turnaround after an early-season wobble when they travel to Nimes in Ligue 1 on Friday night (8 PM kick-off).

The Parisians have bounced back after suffering successive defeats at the start of the campaign, winning their last four matches and producing three clean sheets in that time.

Thomas Tuchel’s side take on 13th-placed Nimes, who have won five home games in Ligue 1 in 2020, with only PSG and Montpellier (six apiece) winning more this year.

So, this will not be an easy game for the visitors, but recent history points in their favour, with the last three matches at the Costieres Stadium witnessing wins on each occasion for PSG.

Nimes had only lost one home match against the Parisians in their nine meetings prior, and will be desperate to renew that record. But, can Jerome Arpinon’s side pull off an upset? Or will PSG continue their good form as they rise up the table?

Nimes & PSG’s previous line-ups:

  • Nimes (vs Montpellier): Reynet; Burner, Briancon*, Landre, Meling; Cubas, Fomba, Deaux; Ferhat*, Ripart, Denkey.
  • PSG (vs Angers): Navas; Florenzi, Marquinhos*, Kimpembe, Bakker; Paredes, Verratti, Neymar, Draxler; Icardi, Mbappe.

Nimes centre-back Anthony Briancon is suspended after an accumulation of yellow cards, while Sidy Sarr, Haris Duljevic, Sofiane Alakouch, Clement Depres and Antoine Valerio are all injured. Zinedine Ferhat is also a doubt after returning from international duty with a knock.

PSG will be without Angel Di Maria, who is serving the second of his four-match ban. Layvin Kurzawa also sits out through suspension for his involvement in the brawl which unfolded against Marseille last month. And Marquinhos is also suspended. Elsewhere, Thilo Kehrer and Juan Bernat remain sidelined through injury for Tuchel.

Players to watch:

Nimes: The Parisians are likely to dominate this game and enjoy the better share of possession, so Nimes will have to be switched on and work well off the ball. Andres Cubas will be key to unsettling the PSG attack and giving his side a foothold in the middle third. A diminutive enforcer, the Paraguay international has so far registered 26 tackles in Ligue 1 this season, the second-most of any player. If Nimes are to pull off a shock upset and register points from this game, then Cubas’ defensive work in the heart of midfield will be imperative to achieving the unlikely.

PSG: Kylian Mbappe has started this season in clinical fashion with two goals in three games, but he will now be hoping to take that to the next level. And let’s face it, if anyone can move up a gear in the blink of an eye, it’s Mbappe. He has been doing everything right so far, registering 49 touches in the opposition box, at least 13 more than any other player in Ligue 1, and attempting a league-high 28 take-ons in the opposition half. In short, he is getting himself in the right positions and looking to produce that extra piece of star quality when the ball is at his feet. Nimes will have to be alert to this, but even if they team up on the French wonder, he has the range of tricks to come out on top.

Scoreline prediction: Nimes 0-3 PSG
