Marseille will be looking for a fifth-consecutive Ligue 1 win when they travel to faced Nimes at the Stade des Costieres on Friday night (8pm kick-off UK time).
Nimes have had a torrid time so far this season, winning just one of their past six games, with that sole victory coming away at Reims two weeks ago. However, they returned to losing ways last weekend, thrashed 3-0 at Monaco. This form leaves Nimes with just 11 points to their name after 12 rounds of Ligue 1 and 16th in the table, just three points clear of the relegation zone.
At home, Nimes have won just once so far this season and are currently on a five-game winless streak. The most worrying fact for the hosts is that they have scored just two goals in their past four matches at the Stade des Costieres.
In stark contrast, Marseille have been flying recently, winning each of their past four games in Ligue 1. In addition, they recorded their first win in the Champions League in midweek, beating Olympiacos 2-1 at home. Although their Champions League campaign is over, domestically Marseille have enjoyed a decent season so far, currently sitting sixth in Ligue 1, just four points behind current leaders Paris Saint-Germain with two games in hand.
Furthermore, Marseille are the best away team in Ligue 1, having won 13 points from their five trips so far this season. And they boast a good recent away record against Nimes, winning three of their last four visits to the Stade des Costieres.
But can Marseille win their fifth Ligue 1 game in a row? Or will Nimes put an end to their five-game winless streak on home soil?
