It’s not that long ago we saw these two face off in the Halle Open, with Kyrgios winning 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 to build momentum ahead of Wimbledon, and the Australian will be hoping for a similar result in the Third Round. Continuing his comeback, Kyrgios was unseeded for Wimbledon and was handed a pretty tough match in the First Round against British wildcard Paul Jubb.

Despite being a veteran of the stage, Kyrgios lost the first set against the 22-year-old and after winning the next two, dropped the fourth on a tiebreak. But he did manage to get over the test, taking the match 3-6, 6-1, 7-5, 6-7 (3), 7-5. Things were a lot more straightforward in the Second Round against 16th seed Filip Krajinovic, as Kyrgios won in straight sets 6-2, 6-3, 6-1.

Looking for his revenge, fourth seed Tsitsipas is among the favourites for Wimbledon but he will need to do better against an opponent that had his number just a few weeks ago. But like his Third Round opponent, Tsitsipas didn’t have the best of times in the First Round against qualifier Alexander Ritschard.

Given the stature of the pair, Tsitsipas will have been expected to cruise through to the Second Round but he was given a slight scare in being taken to four sets, eventually beating Ritschard 7-6 (1), 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. However, Tsitsipas was more comfortable in his Second Round victory over Jordan Thompson, beating the Australian 6-2, 6-3, 7-5. Can he repeat that result against Thompson’s compatriot?

Prediction: Nick Kyrgios to win in five sets
