After two straight set defeats in his opening two matches, Nick Kyrgios will be hoping to finally get off the mark in Dubai and put the disappointment of his canceled match against Novak Djokovic behind him. The Aussie was not happy with Novak’s late decision to pull out of their scheduled match in Dubai, going on to lose 6-7, 6-3 to his replacement Grigor Dimtrov in a match that saw him hit 14 aces, but only win 66% of his first serves.
Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev shocked the fans at the Coca-Cola arena with a 6-4, 6-3 win over 21-grand slam champion Novak Djokovic in his only match of the World Tennis League so far, and will be looking to do the same to his fellow Wimbledon finalist and help his Hawks side move to the top of the table.
This will be the first time Kyrgios and Zverev have faced-off since 2019, when the Australian came out victorious in Mexico to take the lead in the head-to-head meetings between the two (4-3).
