NFL Game Pass is a hugely popular over-the-top (OTT) streaming service from the National Football League which is available to every fan in the UK.

Game Pass provides wall-to-wall pro football coverage through various devices, and it arrived in the UK at the backend of the 2000s.

As the proliferation of smart devices took hold, the NFL continued to roll Game Pass out on as many outlets as possible. Fast forward to 2022, and it is available for download on smart TVs, game consoles, mobile phones, tablets, and computers.

Like most subscription services, Game Pass has various tiers of subscriptions – at the highest level, it offers unlimited and unrivalled levels of access. Subscribers can watch NFL Network live and access the NFL’s vast on-demand library featuring programmes such as Hard Knocks, America’s Game, and NFL Turning Point.

Furthermore, a full Game Pass subscription allows fans to watch just about every regular season game live and every playoff game as well, including the Super Bowl. Fans can also watch games on-demand with three options; short highlights, extended highlights (a game in 40 minutes with no breaks), and a complete game rerun.

NFL Game Pass UK, what is included?

Game Pass will have at least 10 games live for fans to watch every Sunday during the regular season. It carries the live U.S. coverage, meaning fans will get the whole experience from the American broadcasters.

Conversely, if subscribers wish to watch every meaningful moment from every game, Game Pass also broadcasts the highly popular NFL RedZone. RedZone is a 7-hour football marathon with no commercials. Veteran broadcaster Scott Hanson expertly anchors the show at a breakneck speed. Depending on their subscription tier, fans can watch RedZone and one other game simultaneously.

Once the regular season ends, every playoff is live on Game Pass, including the complete Super Bowl coverage ahead of the big game.  Outside of the live games, the NFL Network channel is available on Game Pass. The NFL’s 24/7 channel provides plenty of content for viewers – the flagship shows are Good Morning Football, NFL Total Access, and NFL Gameday Morning.

Outside of the live content, Game Pass offers plenty of great retrospective action with its extensive on-demand library. The critically acclaimed Hard Knocks series is there, as is America’s Game. The hour-long film provides an inside look at that year’s Super Bowl champions.

Hidden gems such as Path to the Draft, NFL Timeline, and a Football Life are excellent additions to the service.

How much does NFL Game Pass cost in the UK?

The Pro subscription to Game Pass costs £150.99 at the time of writing. There are two options to pay for the Pro subscription; Customers can pay the entire fee up front or break the payment into four smaller installments.

Currently, Game Pass does not offer a monthly package or a three-month package. However, subscribers are never tied into a contract and can cancel anytime. If fans wish to sign up for a cheaper option, the essential package is 42.99 annually, although fans cannot access live games or watch NFL Network live. The final tier available is the free tier – where fans have restricted access to everything except short-game highlights and radio commentary.

NFL Game Pass Login: Which platforms is it available on?

As always, logging into any subscription service requires a username and password. New subscribers can set up a unique username for their accounts. Alternatively, they could use an existing email address as their username.

Game Pass is available to download on a slew of devices – iPhone and Android users can get the app on their devices, while various smart TVs will have Game Pass ready to download from the store.

Playstation and Xbox consoles will also have Game Pass on their respective storefront, and fans can still watch Game Pass on their computers. Pro subscribers can watch Game Pass on multiple devices, whereas essential and free subscribers have restricted options on their devices.

What is a ‘blackout’ game on NFL Game Pass?

Sky Sports in the UK broadcasts two featured games every Sunday, one at 6:00 PM and another in the late window at 9:25 PM. These exclusive Sky Sports games are the only games not available to watch live on Game Pass. For example, if Sky Sports chooses to televise a game between the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys at 6:00 PM, that game would be ‘blacked’ out on Game Pass. Fans of those teams could not watch that game live on Game Pass, nor could they watch extended highlights until the following Wednesday. This blackout rule does not apply to the playoffs.

Does NFL Game Pass have a free trial in the UK?

Game Pass offers potential subscribers a free 7-day trial at the top Pro subscription tier.

Does NFL Game Pass show the Super Bowl?

Yes, Gamepass will show the Super Bowl and every playoff game from the 2022 NFL postseason. The Super Bowl coverage on Game Pass is a simulcast version of the leading US broadcast. FOX Sports will televise Super Bowl LVII from Arizona, and Game Pass viewers can watch the complete FOX coverage, including those eagerly-anticipated Super Bowl commercials.
