RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann is the favourite to succeed Jose Mourinho at Tottenham if the Portuguese is axed.
Spurs are on a miserable run of form and Mourinho is under increasing pressure to arrest the slide after five defeats in six Premier League matches.
They were top after 12 matches, but now sit 23 points off the title pace in ninth. Perhaps more relevantly, Tottenham are nine points off the top four and head into a crucial domestic double-header against strugglers Burnley then Fulham in the coming days.
They remain in contention for silverware on two fronts, with a place in April’s League Cup Final already secure and progression to the last 16 of the Europa League likely after their 4-1 win over Wolfsberger in the first leg.
Their run in the Europa League could be key to Mourinho’s future with the winners also awarded a place in next season’s Champions League.
However, The Telegraph claims Nagelsmann is at the top of a list of Tottenham targets if Mourinho’s team are unable to turn a corner in the coming weeks.
Rafael Benitez, who left as coach of Chinese Super League side Dalian Pro in January, is also among the favourites for the Spurs job as he considers his next move in management.
