Tottenham vs Man City team news
Tottenham’s injury crisis has continued to ease over the last couple of weeks with the return of some vital first-team players, including Destiny Udogie, Brennan Johnson and Guglielmo Vicario.
But Ange Postecoglou could still be without six players who still have a bit of time left to go in their recovery process.
Timo Werner has been training for the last few weeks and, while Spurs are optimistic that he will be back on the pitch any game now, it is not certain that the German forward will be available on Wednesday.
Cristian Romero, Richarlison, Micky van de Ven and Dominic Solanke are all a few weeks away from returning.

It is unlikely that these four stars will feature against Man City, but fans can expect them to be back in action early next month. Radu Dragusin is out for the season, and most of 2025, after undergoing surgery on an ACL injury.
For the visitors, Pep Guardiola could be five men short for his side’s trip to the capital. He is hopeful of Erling Haaland featuring on Wednesday after the Norwegian was absent for Man City’s 2-0 defeat by Liverpool on the weekend.
John Stones suffered a thigh injury against Real Madrid in the Champions League last week, with Guardiola expecting a “lengthy lay-off”
Meanwhile, Oscar Bobb and Manuel Akanji are set to miss multiple weeks, and Rodri is expected to be out until the end of the season as he continues to recover from an ACL injury he sustained last September.
Tel’s lacklustre start
Since Tottenham signed Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich with a £45m buy-option, the forward has scored just once in five games.
Often playing as a lone striker in Postecoglou’s 4-2-3-1 setup, Tel is yet to create a big chance or provide an assist for his new club.
In the five games he has featured in, Spurs have scored nine goals, but the Frenchman has played a part in just one of those — an injury-time consolation in a 2-1 defeat by Aston Villa.
Although he is yet to bag his first Premier League goal, Tel’s 3.84 shots per 90 minutes ranks fourth-highest in the competition this season. Of course, this is affected by his small amount of minutes. He has also completed just 17% of his take-ons — the worst of any player to attempt two or more per game.
At 19 years old, there is more than enough time for Tel to grow into his role at Tottenham, but it would not be surprising if Postecoglou looked to the more experienced Son Heung-min to step in up front for this huge clash against Man City.
